It was sometime back that webmasters found out that Google considers back links to a webpage as well while determining its page rank or its relative relevance amongst other sites in the cyberspace. What followed was a mad rush to accumulate as much as back links as possible, and in no time, every other website was pointing to a hundred other websites and vice versa, no matter whether they were relevant links to their niches or not. When Google found it out, they out rightly banned such spamming, sending many such sites straight into the trash can without notice. Well, that is a classical case of overdoing things.
The fact is that Google indeed considers back links to a website - alongside many other aspects - while determining its page rank, and still it does so. But those back links has to be from web pages relevant to the website’s niche, and preferably from top ranked ones. This article tries to educate the reader on how Google judges the quality of back links.
Google bots regularly check the link quality of back links emanating to and from a given website. In other words, Google does not look for link quantity alone. Even after ranking a website, Google periodically verifies if the back links continue to come from those websites indeed - or whether they have became parking domains - or whether the contents of the other site(s) has become something that is now irrelevant to the website’s niche.
In fact, quality assessment performed by Google is not limited to these factors alone, but also includes link age, domain history, link location, link neighborhood quality, likelihood of the link being a paid ad etc. In short, Google judges the quality of your links based on an array of factors, some of which, yes, a site owner may not be able to control fully. But, there are aspects that can be controlled by webmasters, which eventually makes or breaks the prospects of a portal on the PR scale.
For example, webmasters or website owners can periodically check and see if there are any dead links pointing to their sites. There are tools available to speed up this process. It is also a good idea to sign up for an account on Google Webmaster Tools. After validating the site, Google will start providing regular reports on dead links on the site. However, Google Webmaster Tools has the limitation that it tells only about dead links on a given site, and not about external links. Using a link checking tool is also a good option.
To sum it up, good link quality helps both the websites and its users. It also aids Google - and other search engines as well - to swift through the site with ease. Hope the above mentioned points helps users to perform link building in a way Google likes it.

So you have put together a great web site, with really useful content, added the Title for each page, also the description and keyword meta tags like the experts advise, and even sprinkled keywords in the body of the text - but now what?
If you read many of the SEO columns, the next step is to have as many one way and outbound (reciprocal) links associated with your site and instantly you will be golden with all of the search engines.
After all Google recently published their methodology for determining the worth of a site and way up there was: Link Popularity.
On the face of it then, joining many of the free link exchange programs, and contacting hundreds of similar sites to exchange links would seem to be the way to go - particularly if your budget is limited and you are willing to put the time in for the success of your site.
Why, there are even smart programs you can buy which will automate the task for you, and soon you will have literally thousands of web sites linking to your site - instant success with Google!
There is something seriously wrong with this scenario of course, not the least being that if this was all that was required, it would render useless the services provided by Google and the other search engines - they would just display a list that had nothing to do with the relevancy or quality of the sites.
Only who had won the game of securing the most links! The sad news, for those web owners and webmasters who would like to manipulate the system rather than position their web sites based on the real value of their site, is that securing or even buying in-bound links has to be part of an overall SEO strategy.
Even if you can afford it, you cannot simply buy top ranking by buying links and again, if you could, this would make search engine positioning quite meaningless.
So what is an effective overall SEO strategy? How can you be sure that buying links is going to pay off with good SE positioning, with increased traffic and, ultimately, higher sales and profits for your web site?
Most importantly, select the right experts to work with, in your SEO campaign. They will know not only what links to purchase but also how to do it - slowly and steadily for best results. Search engines will be suspicious of a sudden spurt of incoming links to your site.
And one other word of caution, as the manipulators think up new ways to fool the search engines, so just as surely the search engines will tweak their algorithm or methodology in assigning the worth of a site.
So don’t expect that what works well today will work well in another month or so. Another reason for selecting the right SEO partner.

I got asked this question the other day; “Well, I was wondering if you could maybe give me some tips or suggestions on Link Building Strategies…Where I am struggling with it that it seems that it takes a lot of resource to really break into some major link building strategies…and currently I have a limited resource and trying to find high quality links for a gardening website. Any thoughts, suggestions, tips….I would love to hear from you!” I think this is a great question because most of the people who are starting dropshipping businesses are in fact “niche websites”, and have limited resources.
I have some tips for finding high quality links that will not be a strain on your budget, but rather your time. If you can follow some simple steps, and not get your feelings hurt for being told “no”, then you will be able to build some amazing links, and improve your link building strategies.
* Tip One - Search Google for related niche websites that have articles that you could get a link in. Here is how you would go about it - On Google type in “gardening articles” or ” keyword articles” obviously putting in your keyword where I say “keyword”. I would suggest going several hundred pages back and finding sites with good content that are indexed on Google, and do not have many outbound links.
* Tip Two - If you are not familiar with “cache” or “indexed” as far as it goes with Google let me explain. You want to make sure the page is indexed on Google which means that Google knows the page exists. If it does not exist in their database then it will not do you any good if its linking to you. The final thing to consider is the “cached date”. You need to make sure if it is indexed that the cached date is a recent one. If you find a page that the cache date is almost a year old, again the link will do you no good. If it is a recently cached page, then there is a chance it will be re-cached (re-indexed in a way) soon and the link will do you some good.
To find out the cache date of any page type this in Google - cache: www.yourpage.com/articlepage.htm - make sure you put the URL you are wanting to test where I have the “www.yourpage.com/articlepage.htm” You will not find higher quality links that will do you more good with the search engines.
* Tip Three - Read the post over at the 97th Floor on building links with Google News and this will be another amazing resource to finding powerful links. These three simple tips are a good place for anyone looking for niche link building strategies to begin with.
The links you find will be high quality and targeted, and they will not cost you anything but the time it takes to do the research and ask for the link. This is also the point where you need to not worry about people telling you no. I get about 5 out of 10 telling me no, but the other 5 telling you yes, are worth it. If you can even build up a couple targeted links a day using this method it will be a good place for a niche website with limited resources to start with.

The Mathematical Formula for Success.
Google’s exact formula for determining Search Results Rankings is a complex Algorithm. It’s partly based on many factors that indicate how active and how popular a site is.Google continually re-indexes the web, and ignores sites that are considered “dead”. To avoid ending up “dead” in Internet terms, you need to update your site regularly by changing some content.
For instance, if you publish a blog online using Google blogger you only have to make an entry every week ( or better yet, every day) to keep your site fresh. Otherwise, make a commitment to change something-anything on your site every week or so. This can be something as insignificant as the “last updated” date at the bottom of your Web page or as significant as the page title.
Great methods for increasing links to your site.
1. There are online business people whose particular goal is to increase their links and network with other sites. These networks are called Like Exchanges. If you want to participate, simply access the Google Directory.
2. Then go to this category: Computers > Internet > Web Design and Development> Promotion > Link Popularity > Reciprocal Links. You’ll find a long list of Web sites that will match you up with ” Link Partners”. Make sure to approach sites that aren’t direct competitors, but that offer product and services that complement your own.
Playing the Keyword Game
A Keyword is a word or phrase that someone enters in the search box provided by Google or another search service. The user submits the keywords to the site, and a sophisticated computer program scours a database that the service has compiled. The database consist of some of the contents of every page on the web that the search service’s automated computer program, called a spider, has been able to index.
What does this mean for you? When you design your web pages, it is important to keep them updated. It is critical to sprinkle the keywords your customers or clients are most likely to enter in the prominent locations on your pages.
Each page’s Title bar.
Heading.
The First paragraph or two or your Web site.
Don’t worry about terms like at, is, or a, or the; these are believed to be ignored by search engines. Definitely focus on nouns and verbs that describe your site’s content. If you need suggestions of keywords that are related to what you sell or promote on you web page, Do a free search at WordTracker. This popular service (which includes a paid version with many more suggestions) provides you with a list of likely keywords based on your site’s content.
As mentioned earlier Google’s exact formula for making searches relevant and accurate is SECRET. Google assigns each page as a Numeric figure called a Page Rank , Which is determined by factors such as these:
* How frequently the page’s contents are retrieved as a result or search queries.
* The number of new pages that are added to the site, or that are linked to the pages being retrieved.
* The amount of text or photos that are changed on the site.
* The length of time the page has been online.
* The time that passes between changes to the page; the more frequently the page changes, the higher its PageRank number.
It is well worth you time in finding a resource that teaches you basic and proven strategies that will help you with Search Engine Optimization and building highly visible web pages in Google search engines. Link Popularity is vital for any Web Site. customers who cannot find your website cannot buy your service or product.
So what on earth is Link Popularity, known generally as LP. LP refers to the ranking given to your website by the search engines, and it determines the ranking your page gets when keywords are entered into a search engine. Love them or hate them we all need to be as highly ranked as possible by as many Search Engines as possible
Google invented the system of ranking and essentially the majority of search engines employ the Google System to rank your webpages in their respective indexes.
Before I begin it is important to realise that the more popular keyword the harder it will be to achieve link popularity. Please do not be discouraged by this fact all is not lost!
Google has a special affection for certain sites. Ezinearticles.com, Goarticles.com, & Searchwarp are all article directory sites loved by Google. Now it is well known that article writing books tell you to write articles so you can get backlinks to your own site. True as this is it is only part of the story. Google also loves some classified ad sites and UsFreeAds is their favorite. Also favoured by Google are Wordpress.com and Squidoo.com. They involve bit more work but it is well worth the effort. These sites are FREE and anyone even with the most limited budget can get started here.
1. Post your copy on one of the above sites first.
2. The idea is to target a phrase that has a low level of optimized results on Google. So what are optimised results? If you go to Google and type in any search phrase in quotes “” and look on the far right the number of results listed, in effect this is is how many pages you are competing with.
Let us put this idea into practice. Go to Google.com and type in Domain, not forgetting the “” (”www.google.com”). On the right hand side, almost at the top you will see Results 1-10 of about 364,000,000. Now repeat the process for Expiring Domain. and look to your right and see Results 1-10 of about 123,000. Now type in Income from Expiring Domain and now smile. On the right hand side Results 1-10 of about 18.
If you post an ad, message or article on either of the above sites, using optimised results your message or article can show up on the first page of Google in as little as two days to two weeks.
3.The title of your article is paramount. Also do not forget to include the phrase in the article itself! The title is fairly easy with our example above but something it is more effective to use expressions such as “7 Innovative Ways to Create Income with expiring domains. it,I think it is a much more clickable title when it shows up on Google, MSN or Yahoo!
4. Finally you can effectively and legally steal LP by buying Expiring Domains which already have high LP. It is easily possible to create Traffic and Income With Expiring Domain Names.
About the Author: Philip has owned a successful off line business for almost 10 years and now brings to the Internet a fresh and honest approach to making money on line. For a Limited Time you can claim a FREE copy of his information packed report on finding expiring domains with high LP by going to http://www.hollywellassociates.com
As a webmaster ranking in the search engines in order for people to find you is one of your major concerns. Knowing how to get More Backlinks is one of the solutions. What is really nice is free backlinks.
With a good backlink strategy you can get to #1 on Google. I know because I have done it. Not once, but many times. There is only one problem…it takes WORK! If you are not willing to do the work or have the work outsourced then forgetaboutit.
Everybody wants #1 on Google. Knowing how to collect backlinks will help get you there. The first page of Google will put you in easy reach of your customers. If you are a webmaster you can do it yourself. If you are a business owner I strongly suggest that you outsource.
Many web owners struggle to rank up their pages and often this is because they do not fully understand the power of backlinks.
Backlinks, are one-way links. Reciprocal links are when links are exchanged between two websites. Backlinks get more “juice” from the search engines and play an important part when assigns page rank.
Now the thing is, you don’t want just any kind of backlink, you want good high quality backlinks. There are a lot of sites that will sell you backlinks…DON’T. Most of those sites will raise a red flag with Google, and have the “Big G” looking sideways at your site. Free is the key. Free backlinks!
Do not try to manipulate Google. Be safe and do it right. When you seek to get more backlinks you must ensure that they meet the standards of “Big G” and the other search engines. Main thing…make sure the links are relevant to your site, and come from a high ranking site. PR-2 or better. Authority sites such as .gov or .edu are great for backlinks.
There is a very simple method to get high quality backlinks everyday. No begging, no cash required, just fifteen minutes a day will have you over time tons of quality free backlinks and catapult your site to the top of the charts.
If you see the power of quality backlinks and want to know more on how to get then in the thousands then click below for more information. Get More Backlinks.

Any url for a site posted anywhere on the internet is a backlink for that site. If site1 puts a link to site2 on their site, site2 just got another backlink. But the details are quite a bit more complicated than just that.
Backlinks aren’t everything. But they are said to be the majority deciding factor in your search engine placement. Sites with a lot of backlinks are seen by Google as more important than sites with less backlinks. Some people spend hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars trying to get their links on other popular sites, link campaigns, link exchanges. But is it really worth it? Apparently so, because your search engine traffic can increase exponentially from strong and relevant backlinks.
All backlinks are not created equal. Backlinks on a less popular site count for less. Backlinks on a site who’s keywords have nothing to do with yours, or is otherwise not similar in anyway to yours, count for much less. But backlinks that are either on a popular site, or a site similar to yours in content, is very powerful. If you put both together, its even more powerful. The Google spider is smart, it can tell 99.9% of the time if a site is similar to another, or not, by just looking at its content, so you really should focus on building relevant backlinks, or so it is widely believed. Google is very secretive about the actual formulas surrounding many aspects of their search engine, so although it is widely believed, its almost certain some facts are wrong or missing. Nonetheless, it seems those who heed them succeed more than those who don’t.
If you don’t already know about Pagerank, you should read up on it elsewhere, or at my blog. Essentially pagerank is a rank that Google gives sites based on their own criteria, mostly popularity. Pagerank, abbreviated PR, runs from 1 to 10. 1 holds the least value, 10 holds the most. Google is PR 10, a newly started blog is actually rank 0. A backlink on a site with a higher pagerank counts for more than on those of lesser pageranks. A backlink on a site with similar content counts for more than on those of dissimilar content. There is more to it than that but this is just a basic guide. Now you know what backlinks are, and why they are so important. Your welcome! And good luck!

Myths abound regarding what kind of links will help you rank in Google. If you’ve been told that Google only counts links from pages related to your site, or that Google doesn’t count links from pages with no PageRank, or that Google doesn’t count links from duplicate content pages, you’ve been lied to.
Google Counts Links From Off-Theme Pages
If your web page is related to arthritis, what constitutes an “on-theme” link (a link from a related subject page)? Maybe the first thing you think of is, “other arthritis-related pages.” That’s only partly right. Consider these subjects: swimming, cycling, weight loss, vitamins, different types of fat, comfortable furniture, etc. All of them can be related to arthritis!
The only way for Google to ignore “off-theme” links is for it to understand every possible relationship of every conceivable subject in every language they index. Sound impossible? That’s because it is.
I’ve ranked dozens of sites by getting links only from pages that are completely unrelated to the site I’m trying to rank. Google puts them all on page one, so I know it’s true.
Google Counts Links From Pages With No PageRank
PageRank is completely overblown these days. It’s true that Google used to weight their search results heavily based on the page’s PageRank value, but those days were gone years ago. I rank sites all the time by getting links from pages with no PageRank (or very low PageRank) values.
Think about it this, too: is it easier to get 25 links from high PageRank pages or 100 links from low PageRank pages? Because the myth about PageRank’s importance persists, it’s very difficult to get webmasters with high PageRank pages to link to you, but very easy to get links from low PageRank pages.
Google Counts Links From Duplicate Content Pages
Article writing is huge in the search engine optimization world. Why? Because writing articles that can be distributed to article sites like EzineArticles.com results in a large number of pages linking to your site from all over the web. It takes a lot of links to rank well in Google, and article writing is a popular way to get a lot of links. Each distributed article is a duplicate of the original, and yet Google counts the links.
Of course, article writing isn’t the only way to get a lot of links into your site with ease.
There’s a system that automatically builds links to your site in the way that Google likes to see, helping you to rank in Google very quickly. The system I strongly recommend has achieved thousands of top 10 rankings in Google for hundreds of webmasters, and can do the same for you as well. For rock-solid proof of its effectiveness, visit this web site now.
